FITZROY GARDEN!  Besar tau Garden nie!
"Fitzroy Gardens was named after Sir Charles Augustus Fitzroy (1796-1858), Governor of New South Wales (1846-1851) and Governor-General of the Australian Colonies (1851-1855). The Gardens have a long history of over 150 years, few other capital cities can boast such a significant garden so close to the City's centre. As crown land the City of Melbourne are the custodians to preserve and oversee this magnificent garden, visited by over 2 million local, interstate and international visitors each year, it is one of the major attractions in Melbourne."

Sejarah tertulis... memang seriously aku kagum!!

Kalau korang nak tahu lebih detailed about Fitzroy Garden nie.. korang leh refer kat website dia nie.. http://www.fitzroygardens.com/  Satu lah yg aku suker ngan Aussie nie.. ko search lah apa sekali pun.. nak2 tempat2 yg nak dilawati.. memang penuh ngan info.. ade jerk website bagi setiap tempat yg ingin dikunjungi tuu..

Ok.. kalau korang nak tahu.. disebabkan Fitzroy Garden nie lah yg membuatkan aku meroyannn sesangat nak ke Melbourne! Seriously waktu tu aku tengok Langkah Mawi World kat Astro beberapa tahun yg lepas... and diaorg gie lepak2 kat area garden nie.. waktu tu memang musim Autumn... OMG! OH Memang Giler!!! memang seriousss aku cam kene santauu jap! terpegunn lah tengok keindahan taman nie..  nak2 during autumn!  Dan disebabkan garden nie jugak lah aku memilih utk datang melawat Melbourne during musim luruh @ autumn...

DSC_0572 copy
Ok.. nie masih diluar kawasan sebenar Fitzroy Garden.. ternampak ade budak2 sekolah wat aktiviti luar kat kawasan sekitar garden nie.. phewww!!! syiokk betol lah depa bersekolah kat sanaa... jelesss tol aku tengok!

DSC_0568 copy
nie pun di luar kawasan sebenar Fitzroy Garden!  Kalau nak lebih tepat.. sebelum nak ke Fitzroy Gardnen. kat sebelah dia tu ade Treasury Garden! So ini adelah di sekitar kawasan Treasury Garden.. waktu berjalan nak ke Fitzroy Garden.. aku ternampak pokok yg sangat cantik warna nyer! now kamoo tahu kenapa gonjeng tergedik-gedikss nak pegi during musim luruh?? yerr! sbb nak bebenor tengok wajah2 pokok dan dedaunan yg berubah wajah dan bermacam-macam warna!

DSC_0566 copy
nie lagi satu.. kalau tadi merah.. skg kuning pulak! nie pun kat sekitar Treasury Garden!

DSC_0565 copy
Masih di area Treasury Garden.. and this is sooo greeny kan?  Geramm betol aku.. rasa nak gulingg gulinggggggg jerkk!!  and then pokok2 yg kat belakang tu macam dahhh takde daun.. cantik aku suker gak tengok pokok2 tuu..

DSC_0315 copy
ok.. nie baru lah kite memasuki ke area Fitzroy Garden! and yea.. this is Autumn all about.. pokok2 berubah wajah.. daun macam2 warna ade.. kuning.. oren.. hijau.. merah.. cokelat.. ish.. geram lah tengok! uhuhu...

DSC_0320 copy
look at this tree!! kesemua pokok2 yg berada di dlm kawasan Fitzroy Garden nie telah pun berusia beratus-ratuss tahun! and believe it or not that they still maintain it and very well taken care off!  Kat sini ado? jgn harap! yg ade semuanyer abiss ditebang buat balak!!!

DSC_0324 copy
cool giler lepak kat sini! rasa cam takmo gie mana2.. tapi tak leh.. duduk kejap tak sempat kerusi tu nak panas pun.. we both dah gerak ke tempat lain.. ye lah.. besar tuu kawasan nie.. nak cover!

DSC_0325 copy
Yeaa! I love this!

DSC_0329 copy
kalau boleh nak jadik spiderwoman... tapi apakan daya aku tak berdaya! :p

DSC_0330 copy
Ishhh.. kalau lah langit itu biru! uhuhuhu.....
Rite.. now kite move on ke COOK'S COTTAGE plak!

DSC_0317 copy
Cook's Cottage nie boleh masuk dan boleh dilawati oleh tourist.. tapi ade bayaran yg dikenakan... ermm.. malas lah aku nak masuk.. lagipun nak jimat duit nak balik.. kot2 esok2 leh datang Aussie lagi berkali-kali! ngagagaga... :p  Btw, teringat aku waktu berada kat kawasan nie.. ade sorang penjaga Cook's Cottage nie tegur aku punyer Beanie Hat! Dia kata cantikk sangat ade bungaaa besarr sekelepukk kat kepala camgitu! ahahhaa.. aku pulak kalau boleh nak buangkan bunga tu.. tapi biler dia dah kata cantik.. tak jadik lah.. ngeeeeeeeee~~~~~
"The Cottage originally stood on an extremity of the village of Great Ayton, Yorkshire. Cook's father who had gone to Great Ayton from Marton to be a "hind" or bailiff on Thomas Skottowe's farm, Airey Holme, either built, rebuilt or bought it in 1755. From the date 1755 and the initials (those of James and Grace, Cook's mother and father) over the doorway which is apparently older than the rest of the cottage, it would seem that the cottage was rebuilt, and not originally built by Cook's father when he bought it."

Tu yg aku suker about them... they reallyyy value and appreciate their country history.. garden nie penuh dengan history and nilai heritage! seronok utk kami treasure!

Ok.. now kite pergi ke station berikutnya.. masih di dalam kawasan Fitzroy Garden.. di sini ade terletak satu kawasan yg di panggil TUDOR VILLAGE!

DSC_0342 copy
Nampak tak apa yg ditulis kat board tu? kalau tak nampak sila pakai kanta pembesar! :p

DSC_0341 copy
Tudor Village adelah merupakan satu kawasan yg menempatkan rumah2 miniature camgini..
"The Village which is situated in the centre of the Fitzroy Gardens, was modelled in cement by Mr. Edgar Wilson, a 77 year old pensioner who lived in Hamilton Road, Norwood, London, England, who carried out the task as a hobby. He built three such villages.  One of them which he presented to the City of Melbourne through the City of Lambeth, England, in appreciation of Melbourne’s generosity in sending food to Britain, during the Second World War. It was officially opened by the Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Councillor Sir Raymond Connelly, on 21st May, 1948. The model buildings represent a typical Kentish village built during the "Tudor" period of English history. The village is composed of various thatched cottages, a village church, school, hotel, barns, stocks, pump, and all public buildings which make up one of the delightful villages. Also included is a scale model of Shakespeare’s home and Anne Hathaway’s cottage. Six houses were presented to the Lambeth Council on 27th October 1948 for Vauxhall Park. They were subsequently located on the site laid out by the Borough Engineer. A set of houses was also given to Lambeth for Brockwell Park."

Comel!
Alrite.. now kite ke THE FAIRIES TREE pulak!

DSC_0335 copy
The History of Fairies Tree!
"One of the greatest attractions for children is situated in the Fitzroy Gardens - Ola Cohn's Fairies Tree, comprising a series of lovely carvings on the stump of one of the original Red Gum trees in the Fitzroy Gardens, well over 300 years in age. From 1931 to May 1934 - Victoria's Centenary Year - Miss Cohn worked on the delightful likenesses of fairies, dwarfs, gnomes, a marvelous jackass, koalas, flying foxes and a host of typical Australian animals and birds. She used all the natural irregularities and curves to transform the tree trunk into a thing of beauty. Her intentions are best described in the foreword to her book, "The Fairies Tree", inscribed on the tree's plaque : 'I have carved in a tree in the Fitzroy Gardens for you, and the fairies, but mostly for the fairies and those who believe in them, for they will understand how necessary it is to have a fairy sanctuary - a place that is sacred and safe as a home should be to all living creatures.' The carvings were done years after the death of the tree and so the problem of the trunk's preservation presented a problem. In 1977, the trunk was extracted from the ground for chemical treatment and the removal of rotted wood, and during the process, a mummified brush tail possum over 40 years old was found perfectly preserved within the trunk. The tree was remounted on a concrete base to prolong its life."
